Mr. Martin Mbaya, Co-Founder/Advisor - MIT-AITI; Financial Analyst - Harvard

Martin Mbaya is Co-founder/Advisor of the MIT Africa Information Technology Initiative (MIT-AITI) and a Financial Analyst at Harvard. MIT-AITI is a student run organization of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) that promotes development in Africa through education in appropriate information and communication technologies (ICTs). Martin has wide ranging experience in strategic leadership and performance management with a particular focus on mission driven institutions. He holds degrees in engineering from MIT and public policy with a concentration in international trade and finance from Harvard. Martin was a technology consultant for several years and currently works at the intersection of higher education and global finance. Mr. Kinoti Gituma, Managing Director, KinConsult

Kinoti is the Managing Director at KinConsult a new-age digital media company that enables corporations and institutions to connect, transform and extend their businesses using electronic media through the creation, development and delivery of leading-edge solutions by leveraging proven tools that help customers, suppliers and partners manage their needs more efficiently. Mr. Gituma has extensive experience in managing large e-Commerce projects for Fortune 500 Companies in the Silicon Valley. He has sold everything online from rugby jerseys on eBay to servers, computers and software on Google and Yahoo.  Mr. Gituma has an MBA e-Commerce from California State University.

Mr. James K. Wanjagi

James K. Wanjagi is a Project Management Certified professional from the Project Management Institute (PMI). He holds a Masters degree from University of Phoenix (UOP) – Atlanta Campus. James is a PhD candidate in Leadership at Capella University. He is also part of John C. Maxwell’s leadership institute and mentoring school.  James resides in Atlanta, GA and has recently begun a consulting practice – Iricon Consulting Group - that deals with business consulting, e-learning strategy, and technology consulting for the small-medium size (SMB) market. James believes that BPO’s and online learning are the next waves that will accelerate economic development in Kenya. He has also taken a keen interest in development issues and is involved in non-profit organizations like Operation Saidia Watoto (OSW) whose vision is to meet the educational needs of disadvantaged children in Kenya.

Mr. Joseph Nganga C.E.O of Renewable Energy Ventures (K) Ltd

Mr. Nganga is the Founder and C.E.O of Renewable Energy Ventures (K) Ltd., a renewable energy and energy efficiency project development, consulting and advisory firm headquartered in Kenya, with an office the Washington DC Metro area. He is an experience entrepreneur having founded and run successful companies in Kenya and in the USA. Mr. Nganga also sits on the Board of Queens University Alumni Association and Carolina for Kibera. Mr. Nganga has extensive exposure to renewable energy and energy efficiency having traveled widely and worked with various companies in the industry. Mr. Nganga started his career in Investment Banking at Bank of America Global Corporation and Investment Banking group in Charlotte, NC. Mr. Nganga received his BA Finance and Marketing from Queens University of Charlotte.

Frank Mwaniki CEO of the Kenyans Abroad Investment Fund (KAIF) and Head, Epsilon Solutions LLC

Dr. Mwaniki is a Management Scientist and the current CEO of the Kenyans Abroad Investment Fund (KAIF) and heads Epsilon Solutions LLC. His expertise is in management science specifically in using statistics for predictive modeling. His work has been published in several academic journals including Administrative Sciences Quarterly, Academy of Management Review and Academy of Management Science. He attended higher education at York University, Toronto, Canada, University of Texas at Dallas and Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey. He is past President of the Kenyan Community Abroad (KCA) and a member of the Pharmaceutical Management Science Association’s executive board amongst others. Present interests include formulating policy structures to harness remittances in developing nations.
